First French edition expanded with information on the wine of Cyprus taken from a monograph that Mariti devoted, independently, to this subject (Del vino di Cipro, 1772). The first volume, devoted entirely to Cyprus, contains one of the best and most complete descriptions of the island published in his time. This original French edition is unusual: Atabey and Blackmer only owned the second edition, published the same year in Neuwied. Repeated R.N. bookplate. (Röhricht, 323; Tobler, 132).
