Alain MARIE (1956). "The Four Oros". Oil on canvas, signed lower right. 92 x 65 cm
Alain MARIE. A graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Alain MARIE is a painter of constant research, his canvases never leaving the studio without regret.
From Bertholle's studio, where he retains the richness of his tones, to Maurice Guy-Loë's, who was behind the creation of the Maison Nationale des Artistes de Nogent-sur-Marne in 1945, the artist pursues a quest for balance in form and color.
He takes an "expressionist look at figurative painting and pictorial matter", defining himself as a neo-figurative.
In 2028, he was awarded the Grand Prix Léon-Georges Baudry by the Taylor Foundation.
Starting from a fragment of reality, be it still life or portrait, he creates chaos before restoring order.
His nudes, with their tactile presence, betray his past as a sculptor, while his still lifes, imbued with serenity and silence, invite us to savor the moment.
Alain Marie excels at recreating atmospheres in the truth and freedom of his writing.
