Light cavalry saber, An IX type, probably Polish. Basane-covered handle with brass olive. Brass mounting, three-prong guard and two shuttle-shaped pommels. Strong blade with flat back and hollow sides, with remnants of a hussar engraving, inscribed "Narodu (...) Wolna i Oÿczÿz...". And dated on the heel "1788". A.B.E. (Pitting and insect marks). Late 18th century.
