BERGAMIA (Asia Minor), late 19th century, early 20th century. Two grey mouse-like counterborders surround the main old gold border with polychrome starry boxes. The whole frames a bluish field sown with small flowers, animals and symbols, where three large rectangular boxes with niches lie. They are adorned with Medes stars, flowers, insects, animals and symbols gravitating around hourglasses in cruciform kotchaks. They are separated by square Kotchak boxes on a "patchwork" of seeding colours. (Dated 1330 A.D. to 1908 A.D.). 265 x 148 cm.
