ERZERUM (Asia Minor), late 19th century, early 20th century. Six ruby and mouse-grey boxes with old gold crenellations and indentations, decorated with diamond, ivory and brick medallions, decorated with entomological entities, vegetalized with hooks, rest on a two-tone ground with stylized vegetal motifs. Two orange counter-edges with star-shaped flowers surround the main border with small stylised cross-shaped flowers and multicoloured, crocheted St Andrew's crosses. Pistachio outer border with tricoloured "tulips". Dated 1332 Hegira (1910). 390 x 230 cm.
