KIRMAN-LAVER (Persia), end of the 19th century. The ivory fi - Lot 255
KIRMAN-LAVER (Persia), end of the 19th century. The ivory field of this impressive mihrab door is the setting for an exceptional tree of life with pinkish stems all in a twist. The flowers and leaves of this symbolic tree cover the entire decor. While in the flowery undergrowth two deer are frolicking. The old gold arches, all in embraces, are covered with polychrome plant stems. Two brick counter-borders frame the main ivory, all three with garlands of multicoloured flowers. 216 x 138 cm.
