Rare KACHAN (Persia), end of the 19th century, woven in the - Lot 114
Rare KACHAN (Persia), end of the 19th century, woven in the workshops of the master weaver MORTACHEM. A brick field supports an oblong ivory counter-field with brackets, itself hosting a polylobate marine, brick, sky and ivory floral medallion and its pendants. The ensemble is surrounded by four small spandrels and is entirely covered with delicate floral foliage. The beautiful brick-braced marine main border is adorned with vases with polychrome flower stems and small stylized cypresses. Three ivory and brick counter-edges, flanked by chess pieces, complete the frame. Nice example. 210 x 130 cm.
